LEGO Halloween Extraction is a 12-player extraction shooter created in UEFN. The game features a lobby, upgrades, NPC enemies and boss fights. It is playable in Fortnite via the code 6522-1299-1581.
Drawing inspiration from titles such as ARC Raiders and Hunt: Showdown, we set out to create a beginner-friendly extraction shooter with silly LEGO weapons like a ketchup blaster and a bumblebee rocket launcher. The game provides both PvP and PvE combat on a large open map. Players fight to collect treasures and loot. In order to return safely back to the lobby (and buy weapon upgrades), players must use one of three extraction towers located at strategic locations on the map. The game features a Blood Moon timer cycle, which periodically spawns dangerous NPC enemies that yield rare loot and XP bonuses.
Furthermore, the game has a boss system, which dynamically spawns encounter zones where players can choose to engage with powerful bosses for the chance of obtaining unique weapons and resources.
In preparation for the game’s release, we also collaborated with Epic Games on the the LEGO PvP Extraction Template to teach developers how to create their own extraction games using the LEGO tools inside UEFN.
