Hi there. My name is Gustav Dahl. Since my early childhood, I have been fascinated by everything related to games and technology.

Here are two pictures of me: receiving a Game Boy on my fifth birthday, and trying the Oculus Rift for the first time:

That Game Boy was my first encounter with the magical world of videogames — and I have been hooked ever since (if you are curious, I am playing a game called The Smurfs – a surprisingly difficult platformer, which I never managed to complete. Games in the ’90s were tough! It had catchy music, though).

Today, I like to make, play and write about videogames. I am currently studying Medialogy at Aalborg University, where I plan to learn a lot about all sorts of technology-related topics, with a big focus on game development, of course.

This portfolio hosts all of my game projects so far. Most of the games were developed either at game jams or as university projects. Some of my older games are maybe not the best, but I like to be able to go back and look at my previous projects. I consider them all useful learning experiences, as well as a step forward in making better and more sophisticated experiences.

Over the years I’ve played a good bunch of different games.  If you are the type of person who judge other people by their taste of games, here is a (I would argue quite small) list of some of my favorite videogames (not in any particular order):

  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
  • Portal
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Rhythm Heaven
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
  • Beyond Good & Evil
  • Left 4 Dead 2
  • Metroid Prime
  • LittleBigPlanet 2
  • Demon’s Souls
  • Super Hexagon
  • Rayman Origins
  • Journey
  • ZiGGURAT
  • Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
  • EarthBound
  • SpyParty
  • The Stanley Parable
  • Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
  • TowerFall
  • Life is Strange
  • Splatoon
  • Overwatch

If you like what you see, feel free to contact me. I would love to get in touch with you! Thanks! 🙂
